Hi! I saw you did the ketogenic diet for 3 weeks soon after you started the omega3/6 diet. Am i right in assuming you only did the ketogenic diet for those 3 weeks and not ongoing? Many thanks!
I did the short ~3 week ketogenic diet for 2-3 times in a year. Reason is in Chapter 15, section "How very low carbohydrate diets can deplete MDSCs", pg 256-257.
Continued Keto? Once MDSCs are gone, are they gone for good?
I have read your book (Amazing & so hopeful!) and am currently NED, I have Sclerosing epithelioid fibrosarcoma - original tumor resected and METS to both lungs, 2 VATS procedures. I have been trying my hand at the Omega 3 - Omega 6 but wanted to try the Keto diet in addition. My question is now that I am NED do you think the short 3 week ketogenic diet is all I'd need. Do you still do it a few time a year to deplete the MDSCs periodically or just the original 2-3 in the first year, is it that once they are gone, they are gone? I'm on day 2 of the diet and it's really hard, I am experiencing what you and Eddy did the first 5 days...but holding on to the "only 3 weeks" I don't think I could make the keto diet a lifestyle like some do. Thank you for your insight.

I did several weeks of the keto diet when I had a lung tumor, in addition to the omega 3/6. This was described in Chp 15.
I repeated 1-2 weeks keto diet once or twice in the subsequent years, when I was NED. I consistently did the omega 3/6 throughout that time (details on omega 3 supplementation: http://www.curingcancerbook.com/diet/high-omega-3-supplementation, details on omega 6 diet: http://www.curingcancerbook.com/diet/low-omega-6-diet)
I don't know if the MDSCs are permanently gone after the ketogenic diet, as the immune system is complex and dynamic.
The first week of the keto diet is very hard, but once ketosis is reached, you'll feel OK. Ketosis can be measured with urine ketone strips.
