Hi Rene,
Thank you for the wonderful book. Your experience and persistence in fight cancer inspiring all of us.
I have er/pr + breast cancer IV. Have you heard
successful story using coley toxin against BC? Er/pr Breast cancer is known resistant to immunotherapy.
Since MBVax is no longer in business, do you know other channels to obtain coley toxin vaccine?
Thanks,
Karen
I would not necessarily conclude that ER/PR breast cancer is not responsive to immunotherapy. Was there a specific immunotherapy that was found to be not effective for ER/PR breast cancer? In addition, as described in the book, a successful immune attack on the tumor requires many facets of the immune response need to be in place. Often clinical trials only test one immunotherapy, when in fact, it requires layering different immunotherapies and treatments to generate a positive response.
During the time when we researched Coley's Toxins, we only trusted the MBVax forumulation. However, nowadays, there are stronger immunotherapy treatment options for patients - Chapter 16 details our thoughts on concrete steps patients can take today. Of specific interest to breast cancer, cryoablation is done for breast cancer (tumors are easily accessible in breast, and even tumors in bone can be cryoablated), which can generate T cells against the tumor. Wishing you the best in your journey to fight cancer.
