Photodynamic Therapy as a treatment for lung metastasis

Hi Rene and Edward,

Congratulations on the success of your battle with synovial sarcoma!

We’re currently about half way through your book and wanted your advice. We were just wondering what you thought about Photodynamic Therapy for the treatment of Synovial Sarcoma Lung Mets.

From our research, it looks to be a non toxic method to destroy the tumors in the lung, encourages an immune response and asit is non toxic, can be used many times to treat tumors. It’s currently used or non small cell lung tumors and a small amount of research has shown a riding orange light and ATX-S10 inhibits synovial sarcoma cell growth.

As we are located in Australia, currently there are no cryoabalatio or photodynamic therapy centres so we will most likely have travel for either of these treatments so trying to focus on the best option.

Many thanks,

Scott and Jo

We're so sorry you're

We're so sorry you're battling synovial sarcoma lung mets.

We encourage you to continue reading to the end of Chp 16, as our detailed thoughts on lung met treatments, cryoablation and nuances in treatment decisions are built up through the chapters. If you have additional questions after finishing the book, feel free to ask us here.

We have not come across photodynamic therapy, but will look into it. We'll also reply to this thread if we have any thoughts about it.
